Omerlee Harrist

CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. – Omerlee Harrist, age 73, of Cambridge City, Indiana, died Monday, December 1, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital, surrounded by family.
Born May 29, 1952, in Richmond, Indiana, to Omer Lee and Rosemarie Barnes Harrist, Omer lived in this area most of his life. He was a talented auto repairman, body work, engine repair, and glass work. Omer loved Hot Wheels cars, collecting, buying and selling, and painting and customizing them. He was a member of the Hot Wheels Collector's Club. Omer enjoyed woodworking and being outdoors. He was ALWAYS there for his family and willing to help a neighbor.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Vickie Harrist, to whom he was married on March 29, 1971; daughter, Rebecca Ann Harrist; sons, Rodney (Shelley) Harrist and Randy (Angie Patterson) Harrist; grandchildren, Brandon (Tonya) King, Marcus (Lacey Gabbard) King, Abby Bridgford, Michael (Amanda) Blue, Lilly (Kyle Gonzalez) Harrist, Nicholas (Elaina) Harrist, Nathan Harrist, and Noah Harrist; great-grandchildren, Ava, Sophie, Gavin, Lilly, Simon, Shiloh, Shepherd, Stevie, Sunny, Lola, and Nolan who is expected to arrive in January; sister, Twila Conley; and his sidekick canine, Bennie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rheita Day; and brother, Delbert Ward.
Visitation for Omerlee Harrist will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, at Mills Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
