CENTERVILLE, IN– Robert E. Brattain, age 81, of Centerville, Indiana, died Saturday, April 19, 2025, at home.
Born November 18, 1943, in Cambridge City, Indiana, to Frank E. and Pauline Grey Brattain, Robert has lived most of his life in this community. He was a high school graduate and served in the US Marine Corp. serving in Vietnam. Robert worked over 20 years in insurance and retail sales. He was also in management at Danner's Department Store. Robert was a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church. He and was a life member of American Legion Post #169, of Cambridge City. He was also a life member of V.F.W. Robert was well known for being an umpire and referee. He officiated in many sports.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Reichley Brattain; sons, John David (Lisa) Brattain, and Jason (Jessica) Brattain; grandchildren, Corey (Courtney), Cassidy, John, Samantha, and Kylie; several great grandchildren; and brother, John Brattain.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jeffrey; sister, Phyllis Froman; brothers, Jimmy and George Brattain; and beloved daughter-in-law, Brenda.
Visitation for Robert E. Brattain will be from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., Centerville, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at Mills Funeral Home, with Pastor Curt Nies officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wayne Co, Honor Guard.
