Michael Dale Henderson, 73, of Waycross, GA, entered eternal rest on February 8, 2026. Mike was born and raised in Anadarko, OK, to the late Dee and Phylla Henderson. He graduated from Anadarko High School and attended both Southwestern College and Northwest Bible College. Mike dedicated 10 years of service to Texaco while in Oklahoma, and after moving to Waycross, GA, devoted 20 years to the U.S. Postal Service where he retired.
A man of many words, he was not; however, a few of his passions were witnessed by anyone who had the gift of knowing him — a Sooner fan ’til the end, a good neighbor to all, and a hard worker who loved and supported his family, cheering all on from the sidelines of life in every season. After retirement, one of Mike’s most enjoyed pastimes was volunteering at The Lakes Golf Course at Laura S. Walker State Park, blending his pleasure of golf and good friends each week.
A profound thinker and lover of knowledge, Mike enjoyed pondering the deeper meanings of life. At the same time, he was full of awkward humor and goofiness, which he shared with the love of his life, his children, and grandchildren who knew him as “the riding bull” and one of their biggest fans.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years of marriage, Roberta Brown Henderson, his daughters, Audrey DeLoach, Rebecca [and Kirby] Ensser, & Melody Henderson, two brothers, Jimmy [and Paulette] Henderson, and Randall [and Phyllis] Henderson, his grandchildren, Tyler [and Emma] Williams, Baily [and Sydney] Williams, Ella DeLoach, Kale [and Teresa] Ensser, & Riley Ensser, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 12, at 3:00pm at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with a visitation preceding for friends at 2:00pm.
Michael will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Boomer!
