Michael Hernandez Obituary
Michael was a devoted father, son, brother, and family man whose life left a lasting impression on those who knew him. His greatest joy in life was his two children, Emily Hernandez of Coal City, IL, and Evan Hernandez of Plainfield, IL, who were truly the center of his world. He loved them more than anything, and that love defined him.
He is survived by his loving children, Emily and Evan; his adoring mother, Diane Hernandez of Plainfield, IL; his devoted brother, Stephen Hernandez, and sister-in-law Brenda Andrist of Lemont, IL; his cherished nephews, Kyle Joseph Hernandez and Owen James Hernandez; and his dear aunt, Mary Louise Hernandez of San Antonio, TX, along with other family members and loved ones who will continue to carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse James Hernandez; his paternal grandparents, Jesus S. Hernandez and Stella Hernandez; and his maternal grandparents, Billie Louise Harris and James Doyle Harris, who welcomed him home.
Michael was a graduate of Naperville Central High School, Class of 1986, and later earned is Bachelor of Arts from Illinois Benedictine College in Lisle, Illinois, Class of 1993.
Known for his generous heart and kind spirit, Michael lived up to his nickname, "Sweet Willy." He had a lifelong love of music and Georgia Bulldogs football. Those who knew him will remember the moments shared, the lessons learned, and the role he played in their lives. While words can never fully capture a life, Michael will be remembered in the hearts of all who loved him.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 5, from 4:00–8:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, located at the corner of Routes 30 & 59 in Plainfield. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, February 6, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
Michael Anthony Hernandez will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
