Michael "Carl" Hester

Michael “Carl” Hester, of Elizabethtown, was born on June 26, 1959 to the late Mary Jane Dowless Hester and Dewey Hubert Hester. He was one of seven children.

Carl was a beloved father, grandfather, and brother. He was a very skilled 2nd generation cabinet maker and wood craftsman with a lifetime of experience. He enjoyed the beach, fishing, music, cars, and spending time with his family and friends. Carl was saved and a firm believer in the Lord! He was known to be generous to a fault and would give anyone the shirt off his back.

Carl was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Hester. He leaves behind his son, Mike (Michael) Hester; daughter, Felicia Avant; son-in-law, Neil Avant; grandchildren: Devin Avant and Anthony Allen; sisters: Joyce “Joy” Rice (Tim Rice), Janet Campbell (Steve Campbell); brothers: Bobby Hester, Jeff Hester (Donna Hester), Tony Hester (Gail Hester), as well as a host of family and friends.

Due to the anticipated weather conditions this weekend, the services for Carl Hester will be postponed until Saturday, February 7, 2026. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm at the Vertical Church in Elizabethtown with a Celebration of Life Service to follow immediately at 2 pm.
