Hippie Hicks
Michael Burton “Hippie” Hicks, 70, loving husband of Debra Brooks Hicks, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 10, 1955 in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late John Burton Hicks Sr. and Bobbie Roe Hicks and was retired from Michelin.
Surviving in addition to his wife is his son, Michael Albert Hicks (Megan) of Mooresboro; daughter, Abigail Elisabeth Hicks/Hall (Chase) of Mooresboro; sister, Tammy Hicks of Chesnee; brothers, David Hicks of Chesnee, Howard Hicks of Mooresboro, Harold Hicks (Kathy) of Chesnee; grandchildren, Michaela Hicks, Noah Hicks, Zoie Hicks, Gracie Hicks, Cayden Blackwood, Malachi Blackwood, Holden Hall, Braxton Hall, Violet “Jo” Hall; great-grandchildren, Leland Hicks, Lukas Hicks, Paislynn Hicks, Raven Wines and Numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Cameron Hall and brothers, John Burton Hicks Jr. and Jeffery Scott “Scottie” Hicks.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. A celebration of life will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Buddy Robbins officiating. Military honors will be provided by Chesnee American Legion Post 48.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agape Hospice, 374 Hudlow Road Forest City, NC 28043.
