Mr. Michael Wayne Holstein, 68, of Richmond, passed away Saturday morning, November 2, 2024 at his home. He was born in Madison County, WV on January 29, 1956, to the late Theron and Virgie Mills Holstein.
Michael was a former fork-lift operator with Hitachi and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed traveling and fishing. Michael was also an avid Cincinnati Bengals and UK Basketball fan.
On April 15, 1980, he united in marriage with Joyce Mills and to this union two children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Holstein and a grandson, R. J. Smith.
Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Holstein of Richmond; dearly loved children, Michelle Holstein and Jeff Holstein and wife, Angel, all of Richmond; five treasured grandchildren, Claudia Holland and husband, Austin, Billy West, Joshua Holstein, Jason Holstein and Jozelyn Smith; a great granddaughter, Cecilia Holland; a nephew, James Holstein; an uncle, Bob Buchanan; a cousin, Betty Green; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, November 6 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Mickie Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Nan Riley Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Billy West, Joshua Holstein, Jason Holstein and Austin Holland.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Wednesday prior to the funeral hour.
