Michael S. Hurley

Family and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, September 25th in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St., Revere from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for Michael S. Hurley, who passed away unexpectedly on September 20th at 48 years of age. His Funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, September 26th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, 133 Beach St., Revere at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
Born in Cambridge, Michael was raised and educated in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School. During high school, he began a job selling concessions at Fenway Park and eventually he would become a well-known "beer man", making many friends during the games along the way. His career at Fenway Park spanned over 30 years. High school also blessed him with meeting who would become his closest and lifelong friend, Steve Murphy. Michael married Marisa (Santos) and the couple began their family and resided in Revere. He also owned and operated MCM Kitchen Solutions, a company initialed after his children's named, whom he adored. He operated his company throughout Boston and the North Shore, maintaining commercial kitchen equipment for various restaurants and educational institutions. He was a hardworking man, devoted to his wife and his children. Mike always had an interest in aviation and after high school, he attended aeronautics school in Florida, and he obtained his private pilot's license. Michael was devoted to his children and was very active in supporting their goals and attending their youth sports. His love for sports extended to all the Boston Sports teams and he was also an avid fan of the Calgary Flames. Michael also enjoyed visiting breweries and especially enjoyed different types of whiskey.
He is the beloved husband of Marisa (Santos) Hurley of Revere. Devoted father of Maeve, Caitlyn and Michael Hurley, all at home. Loving son of Josephine A. (Rowan) Hurley and the late Anthony J. Hurley. Dear brother of Anthony Hurley and his wife Julie of Georgetown and Patricia Varnum and her husband Mark of Tewksbury. Cherished uncle of Ricardo Fernandez, Steven Varnum and Tammy Varnum. He is also lovingly survived by many friends and associates.
