Michael P. Hurley, 74, of Weatherford passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020 in a Fort Worth hospital.
Visitation: 6-8 pm, Friday, July 31, 2020 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Graveside service: 2 pm, Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Newberry Cemetery.
Michael was born October 9, 1945 in Mineral Wells, Texas to Chester and Ava Lea Hurley. He married his best friend, Chavela Lively on April 16, 1977. She was his soulmate and traveling partner for 42 years. Part of Mike’s world was taken from him in August of 2019 when Chavela passed away.
Michael worked for Ford Motor Company for over 50 years, beginning his career at Bodiford Lincoln Mercury. He also worked for Ben McAdam, Eddie Kidd Ford, Texas Motors Ford and retired from SouthWest Ford. Mike enjoyed traveling the world, hunting, farming, and raising cattle. He was a wonderful dad, pawpaw, and husband and more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He was present at their births, attended every sporting event and all school programs.
Mike’s family and friends considered him as a tough, strong man that fought to his last day when God called Him home. He will be so missed here on earth, but he is rejoicing in Heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ and his family members that were awaiting his arrival.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Chavela; brother, Gilbert Hurley and his brother in law, Mervin Gros.
He is survived by his sons, Barry Hurley and wife Sandy, Brandon Hurley and wife Contessa all of Weatherford, Billy Hurley and wife Tina of Colorado and Brian Hurley; sister, Glenna Gros of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Micha, Amanda, Hunter, Hannah, Bailey, Kelsey, Slade, Adisyn, Cambrie, Braylee, Colten, Caleb and Caelyn; great grandchildren, Madison, Malcolm, Stetson, Hudson, Bentley and Emmorey and his beloved dog, Camo.
