Michael J. Johnson

Michael J. Johnson, 57, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

Born on August 8, 1968, in New Hartford, Michael was the son of the late Leo J. and Carol (Dowsland) Johnson. He was a graduate of UFA.

Michael's expertise and dedication will be deeply missed. He worked in maintenance at Lithia Motors, where his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic were greatly valued.

He was a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend. Michael enjoyed spending time at the Turning Stone Casino and collecting baseball cards.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Johnson; siblings, Christine Johnson, Cathleen (Steve) Sims, Charlene Johnson and Leo (Colleen) Johnson, Colleen Hartford Johnson, his twin, Michele (Tim) Schultz, and Christopher (Kim) Johnson; uncle, Stewart (Mary) Dowsland, along with numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many friends.

Michael was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Phillip Hartford.

In lieu of flowers, you are invited to celebrate Michael's love of baseball by enjoying a New York Yankees game in his honor.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, February 26, from 4-6 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Kowalczyk & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica.
