Michael (Country) Roy Jones, 72, of Canyon, Texas passed away on February 20, 2026. He was born in Belen, New Mexico on October 9, 1953, to Beverly (Parker) Hawthorn and Marvin Jones.
Private family services were held. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Country, as most people called him, was adventurous and never truly settled anywhere. He was a talented builder and spent time as a hunting guide in New Mexico. He always had a horse or two for sale. He had many good friends and was sure not afraid to have a little fun.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Kyla Nelson, and daughter-in-law Ronda Jones.
Mike is survived by his three children Kelly Jones, Josh Jones and wife Carmen, Micah Jones, his 4 grandchildren, Raley, Kelton, Kip, and Brooke Jones. His sister Marilyn Swope and numerous nieces and nephews.
