Michael Kane Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beinhauer-Bogan Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. on Dec. 4, 2025.
Michael Jeffery Kane, beloved husband and father to 3 adult children passed away in Pittsburgh, PA on November 25, 2025, leaving a void his family cannot fill. Born on a hot August day to Edward "Bo" and Jeanette Kane at the Naval Hospital in Newport Rhode Island, Mike was their first born. Growing up in Cresaptown, MD with his sister Patricia "Patsy" Ann Herath and Charles Timothy "Tim" Kane was filled with friends, mischief, childhood adventures and an early knack for business with his own paper route. After graduating from Allegany High School, Mike joined the Air Force. His service during the Vietnam War brought him to exotic places around the world like Thailand, Guam and Limestone, Maine. While stationed at Lorring Air Force Base, he met and married Claudette LaBonte. Packing everything in a VW Beetle, their journey eventually brought them to Greensburg, PA, where Mike found employment at the coal tipple in Derry, PA and joined the Army National Guard. While serving in the National Guard, Mike partnered with two of his army buddies to open what would be the first of three Fox's Pizza Den restaurants around Laurel Mountain and the Ligonier Valley area. Though he loved amazing pizza, his final career was with Master-Lee Energy Services in the nuclear power industry serving as a data analyst for over 25 years. In all his endeavors, family meant the most to him as he prioritized quality time to create cherished memories together. His punny humor, persistent patience and perceptive attention to detail had a way of making those around him feel seen, valued, and loved. His unreasonable kindness and generosity still reverberates in our lives. Michael was preceded in death by his parents Edward Joseph "Bo" Kane and Alice Jeanette Sells; and his sisters Patricia Ann Herath and Rebecca "Becky" Harrison. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Claudette; his children Melissa, Christina and Michael (Clarissa); his grandchildren Madeleine and Carson; and his brother Charles "Tim" Kane. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th from 6p-8p at Beinhauer-Bogan Funeral Home 164 W Pike Street, Canonsburg. The funeral will also be held at Beinhauer-Bogan Funeral Home 164 W Pike Street, Canonsburg on Tuesday, December 16th at 10am.
