Michael E. Karlsberg, passed away on May 5th, 2025 just shy of his 75th birthday, with his family by his side. Michael called Duxbury his home for nearly 50 years. He was the cherished husband of Cindy (Corby) Karlsberg for 50 years and the loving and supportive father of Alissa Merrick (Sean) of Duxbury and Andrew Karlsberg (Sara) of Rockville Centre, NY. He was the proudest of grandfathers to his 3 granddaughters Ryan Merrick, Peyton Karlsberg, and Campbell Karlsberg. He was known to them as their "Pampy". Michael was also survived by his sister Sheryl Karlsberg (Mike) of Chevy Chase, MD, niece Stephanie Maltz (Ken) of Washington D.C. and nephew Brad Maltz of Australia.
Michael grew up in Sharon, MA, and after Bentley College, began his career in the women's fashion industry where he met his wife, Cindy. Together they owned and operated a chain of children's clothing stores in the surrounding Boston suburbs, South Shore and Cape Cod for more than 20 years. Later Michael would use his business experience to start and operate a successful financial service business for another 25 years.
Michael was a member of Marshfield Country Club for more than 25 years and enjoyed his vacation home on Sanibel Island, FL with his family and friends for more than 30 years. He will be remembered as a hard-working family man who adored his wife, children and grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury at 11:00AM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or via dana-farber.org/gift
