Michael King Obituary
Michael John King, 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 19, 2024 from kidney failure. He recently had a fall and fractured his hip one month to the day. He pulled through the surgery well, and was on the road to recovery. Michael was born in Lewiston Maine on June 16, 1936.
He spent many years as an expert tree climber/ arborist as well as 17 years as a firefighter, retiring early on disability from a back injury. Mike was an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed spending time attending to his many wild bird feeders. He was also a member of the Upland Club in Plympton where he enjoyed Spending time. He also loved spending time at his daughter's vacation home in Naples Maine.
He is survived by his first wife Anita King, his son Michael King III and his wife Melinda of Johnson city, Tennessee, his favorite daughter Michelle Masison and her husband Michael of Abington and his son Mark King and finance Kristen Barilaro of Halifax.
A burial Ceremony with Military Honors will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA on Tuesday, August 27th at 2:00pm. A celebration of life will follow at the Upland Club in Plympton from 2:30-6:30pm.
