It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Kostesich Jr., a devoted father, husband, and friend, who left us peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for his family. Michael was reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Elizabeth Kostesich, with whom he shared a life full of joy, devotion, and unforgettable memories. He is survived by his sons Scott Kostesich (Courtney) and Eric Kostesich (Monika), and who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. Also survived by his brother Joseph (JoEllyn) Kostesich, sister Donna (Stephen) Byrne and sister-in-law Amy Kostesich. He was preceded in death by his brother John Kostesich. A brilliant engineer, Micheal dedicated over 30 years to General Motors, where his intelligence, creativity, and commitment left a lasting impact. But despite his professional accomplishments, it was clear to all who knew him that his proudest title was "Dad." Michael always put family first, leading with the kindest heart and a gentle, dependable presence. Michael had a deep love for life's simple pleasures. Whether he was cruising in his Corvette, teeing off for a round of golf, or enjoying a peaceful day on the water, he did it with a smile and a twinkle in his eye. His cottage in Caseville was his sanctuary - a place where laughter echoed across the lake and memories were made with family and friends. A natural host and entertainer, Michael was best known in his neighborhood for the legendary 4th of July parties he threw at his beloved backyard bar - affectionately named "The 19th Hole." His warm greetings of "Hey, how you doing?" welcomed all with genuine care and good humor. Though Michael is no longer with us, the love he gave, the joy he shared, and the life he built will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him. A visitation will take place at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Rd (3Blk E. of Van Dyke) Utica, on Sunday (August 17th) from 1pm to 7pm. A funeral service will take place the following day, Monday (August 18th) at 11am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to raise a glass, share a memory, or simply ask someone today, "Hey, how you doing?" - just like Michael would have.
