With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sharon Ann McConney. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought warmth and compassion to all who knew her. She was the beloved mother of Wesley E. (Michelle) McConney and Brandon L. (Sarah) McConney, and the grandmother of Nora, Thomas, Micah, Ava, and Isabel. Sharon was the loving sister of Jacqueline (Wayne) Loenker and Aleta L. Fisken, and she is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. Sharon had a joyful spirit and a heart that cared deeply for others. She had a strong faith that endured with her until the end. Early in life, she found happiness in music, playing the piano, and singing. She also cherished her time at the family farm in northern Michigan. She devoted herself to being the best mother she could be while raising her two sons. She made a point to tell everyone how proud she was of them. She had a passion for gardening and spent countless hours tending her beautiful flower beds. She loved animals of all kinds and was extremely close to her pets. She also enjoyed the excitement of horse racing and was even able to attend the Kentucky Derby, a memory she treasured. Sharon's kindness extended to her neighbors, always checking in to make sure those around her were cared for and supported. Visitation will take place at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home located at 8459 Hall Road, Utica on Wednesday (August 27th) from 2 - 8pm, with a Funeral Service at 5:30 pm. Sharon will be remembered for her generosity, her love of family, and her ability to bring warmth and care into the lives of all who knew her.
