Michael J. Kotowski, age 66, passed away peacefully among his family on January 8, 2025. He was born on November 19, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, and spent most of his life in Maryland, where he moved when he was a child. After earning his AA degree and becoming a registered nurse, Mike worked at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, and then at Baltimore City Hospital as a burn center nurse, where he flew on medevac helicopters. Later, he transitioned to medical sales, where his skills and real-life experience led him to excel. In retirement, he became actively involved with Lab Rescue of the Chesapeake and Potomac (LRCP) where he fostered several dogs in need, one of which was his beloved dog, Favor, who he adopted. He trained Favor as a certified therapy dog, and together they visited numerous nursing homes, bringing joy and comfort to the residents. As a lifelong Baltimore Orioles fan, Mike had a deep love for baseball, which he enthusiastically shared with others. He followed the team closely and loved attending games, or just listening to them on the radio while eating crabs at home. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his dedication, sense of humor, and love for animals. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in his name be made to Lab Rescue of the Chesapeake and Potomac (LRCP): www.lab-rescue.org
