Michael Lewis Kurtz

It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Michael L. Kurtz, who passed away at home on Thursday January 8th.

Michael, known as Mike to all, was a devoted husband to Nancy, with whom he shared a life built on love and family. He was a loving father to his four children and a proud grandfather of 10, roles that brought him great joy and purpose. Family and friends were always at the center of his life.

He proudly served in the National Guard, a reflection of his strong sense of duty and commitment to others. Professionally, Mike was the owner of a tax accounting business, where he was known for his dedication and genuine care for the people he served. He formed meaningful, lasting relationships with his clients and took pride in helping others through both everyday and challenging moments.

Those who knew him will remember his outgoing and kind presence and humor. The way he showed up for the people he loved was unmatched. He was a constant source of love and guidance and his loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his four children; Jason, Jon (Robyn), Michelle (Craig) Herickhoff, Meghan (JK) Kallina; his grandchildren, Maci, Chase, Riley, Jayden, Blake, Kynli, Kaiden, Harper, Presley, Jess; and many extended family members and friends.

An evening visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy Bloomington Chapel on Old Shakopee and Penn.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 15th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Bloomington. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, and a meal will be provided following the service.

The family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support during this difficult time and asks that you keep Nancy and the family in your thoughts.
