Robert Roy Rynda

Robert Rynda, age 91, of Bloomington, formerly Richfield, passed away February 8, 2026.

Bob was born on June 21,1934 in Montgomery, MN and grew up on the family farm. He accepted heavy responsibilities at an early age when his father passed away from leukemia while Bob was attending college and only 18 years old. He graduated from Mankato State College in 1956 and accepted a position with Firestone Tire & Rubber Company. He worked for Firestone for 26 years and was the store manager at their downtown Minneapolis site for 16 years at which point Bob bought his own tire company and ran that for 20 years.

He married the love of his life, Carol, on September 7, 1957, and they enjoyed 68 wonderful years together.

Bob was an exceptional man, loved by all, with impeccable character, and a generous soul. He was relentlessly upbeat and optimistic, always looking to help others less fortunate. In particular, he enjoyed volunteering at the local food bank and providing free tax assistance for low-income families for many years. He never missed a sporting event of his three sons and taught them many valuable life lessons.

Proceeded in death by his parents William and Bessie, and brother Don. Survived by his wife Carol; sons Terry (Nancy), Scott (Jill), and Chris (Karyn); grandchildren Rob, John (Anne), Kelly, Andrew (Jamie), Michelle (Cody), Sara (Andrew), Jennifer (Trey), and Kristine; great-grandchildren Matthew, Kaylee, Max, Peyton, and Summer.

Visitation from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM Friday, February 27, 2026, at Church of the Assumption, 305 East 77th Street, Richfield, MN 55423. Mass at 11 AM followed by interment at Church of the Assumption Cemetery.
