Michael Eugene Laine

Michael Eugene Laine, 62, of Versailles, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, after a brave battle with illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born on December 28, 1962, to Robert L. and Cecila P. Laine Jr. He was raised in Woodford County and was a proud graduate of Woodford County school system. Known for his strength and determination, Michael was a standout athlete, particularly as a hard-charging, hard-hitting football player. Michael was an avid golfer. He also earned a reputation as "Mr. Plumber" for his impressive skill in fixing just about anything that came his way.
A man of faith, Michael accepted Christ at First Baptist Church in Versailles under the pastoral leadership of the late Dr. T.H. Peoples Jr. Throughout his life, Michael shared the love of God in his own unique way, offering unwavering support and love to his family.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Cecila Laine, and his sister Rhonda M. Brown. He is survived by his brothers Bruce A. (Taia) Laine, Rev. Tony Laine, Gordon E. (Lisha) Laine, and John R. Laine, as well as his sister Robin C. Stone. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
Michael lived his life with deep devotion to his family, always offering his love and support. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home, Versailles, KY. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Friends and family members are encouraged to leave messages of condolences and memories here on Michael's tribute page.
