Michael C. Landers, 87, of Foxboro, MA USA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday May 27th, 2025. Mike was the husband of Joanne (Renzi) Landers, to whom he was wed for 65 years. Born in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland on January 17, 1938 to Joseph and Margaret (Fitzgerald) Landers, he was raised in Ireland until the age of 19.
Mike began a journey of purpose and passion when he immigrated to the United States on May 26, 1957. He brought with him a fierce love for his homeland and a deep commitment to building a life filled with laughter, community, and adventure.
Music was a constant thread in Mike's life. As a member of multiple bands and orchestras, and ultimately the lead member of the Mike Landers Quartet, he performed alongside his dearest friends John Flynn, George Landers, and Tom and Charlie Hedrick. Whether playing a lively reel or a heartfelt ballad, Mike's music uplifted spirits and connected hearts at Florian Hall, countless weddings and other event venues.
An entrepreneur at heart, Mike (with his wife, Joanne) was the proud owner of Evergreen Travel for 17 years, a beloved agency through which he helped others experience the world. He specialized in chartering unforgettable trips to Ireland, ocean cruises, and worldwide adventures. His work brought joy to countless travelers, many of whom became lifelong friends. His love for travel included getting his license and learning to fly his own planes, a hobby that earned him 'credit' amongst his children's friends.
Above all else, Mike was a family man. He was a proud father to Susan (Landers) Hall and her husband Brian of Mansfield, and Pam (Landers) Peterson and her husband Brad of Wrentham. He took the greatest joy in being "Papa" to his cherished grandchildren - Bryan Hall of Norton; Steph (Hall) Leonard and her husband Nick of Franklin; Connor Hall and his fiancé Carrie St. Germain of Mansfield; and Amanda Peterson of Wrentham. He recently welcomed his newest source of pride and joy, great-grandson Timothy Leonard. He was predeceased by his siblings Patsy Lynch, Josephine O'Connor, Lila Berardi and Rene Ackerman, and is survived by his sister and friend, Geraldine O'Sullivan. He also leaves behind many adored nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his ability to fix anything - when something was broken around the house (or the neighborhood), everyone knew to call Papa. His (at times, irreverent) sense of humor, charm and charisma could light up a room - often winning over the hearts of those who provided his care in his final years, and certainly, his final weeks. His presence filled every room with laughter and wisdom, and his stories and songs will echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
Visiting hours will be 4-7pm on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025 at Roberts and Sons Funeral Home in Foxboro, MA. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Foxboro, MA on June 4th at 10:00am, followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Foxboro. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mike's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

So sorry to read of the passing of Mike Landers.
I worked with Aer Lingus in Shannon from 1994 until 2005 - I had many happy encounters with Mike during that time.
We both are Tralee people, so that gave us a great starting board.
Mike, you were a Wonderful Human Being, always a Smile on your face.
Rest in Peace Mike.
Deepest Condolences to your Family.

I absolutely loved playing music with my cousin Mike. His voice was one of the absolute best you could ever hear. I had 15 of the best years of my musical life with Mike, John, and the late Tom Hedrick. We always got together a couple of times a year to play cards at John´s house with many of the fellow musicians we knew from Tralee. He really lived an amazing life, and I still cannot believe he is gone. May he RIP.
