Michael Lando Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Earle Funeral Home - Blackwood on Dec. 13, 2025.
Michael F. Lando, of Washington Twp, NJ, passed away suddenly on December 9, 2025 at the age of 58. Born on March 6, 1967, in Kearny, NJ, Mike was a man whose vibrant spirit and generous heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Mike was the beloved son of Ann Lando and the late Frank Lando. He grew up in a close-knit family with his brother, Alexander Lando (Jenny). A proud father, Mike's legacy lives on through his children, Jennifer Young (Ryan), Kaitlyn, Bryson, Mitchell, Briar, and Quinn Lando. He will be remembered with love by his cherished nieces, Nora and Josie Lando. Mike's life was further enriched by the companionship of his loving partner, Christine Harris, with whom he shared many adventures and quiet moments alike.

Mike's unwavering support and love for his family were the cornerstones of his life. He was a constant presence at his children's sporting events, cheering them on and offering words of encouragement.

After graduating high school, Mike pursued his passion for technology by taking classes in Information Technology. This led to a fulfilling career as an IT Specialist at Premier Technology Solutions in Southampton, PA. His colleagues remember him as a dedicated and knowledgeable professional who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Mike's youthful energy found an outlet in sports, having played baseball, hockey, and football. His competitive spirit was matched only by his sportsmanship and camaraderie with teammates. Outside of work and family, Mike's interests were diverse and reflected his adventurous spirit. He was an avid fan of heavy metal music, with Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Metallica being among his favorite bands. His love for animals was evident in his affection for his dog, Java, and his cat, Biscuit.

Traveling with Christine, Mike explored new places and experiences, including memorable road trips to Lancaster, PA, and tours of lighthouses that dotted the coastlines they visited. These journeys were not just about the destinations but the joy of discovery and the pleasure of each other's company.

Generous, selfless, and adventurous are words that only begin to describe Mike. He had a knack for making people feel valued and a rare ability to bring laughter and light into any room. Mike's absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he left behind.

As we say farewell to Mike, we celebrate a life lived with passion and purpose. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories we share and the love we continue to hold for him in our hearts. Mike's journey through life was a testament to the power of kindness, the strength of family bonds, and the joy of embracing every moment. He will be dearly missed.

The visitation will take place on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church St., Blackwood, NJ. A "Sharing of Memories" by family and friends will begin at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family to help with unexpected expenses would be appreciated.

You were a senior and I was a sophomore, honored to be your prom date. You were my first date/boyfriend. From there a deep and loving friendship grew over decades. I was honored to meet your beautiful children and see what an amazing dad you were. I was so happy for you and Chris when you met and have loved reading about your road trips and life together. I'm so sad you left us so soon. I know everyone is so lost without you. Mike, you were one of the greatest men in my life and you will be forever in my heart. I will always cherish "The Dance".

Just a few days ago I was talking with Mike while he serviced my home computer. I have known him for several years, since he serviced the computer systed at the Haddonfield United Methodist Church. I have met few people who are as kind and gracious that Michael always was. I pray that all the good remembrances in the obituary will be a source of healing for all who knew him.

I babysat "Mikey" when he lived on Stephen Pl. in Rockaway long before his brother came along. Mrs. Lando, please be strong! Love, Jeannie Lynch

I was Michael's freshman football coach at Colonia High School. He was dedicated to his teammates and to the game that he played at a high level. Outside the lines, he was kind and compassionate and someone who you wanted to be around because he helped you have a better day. Michael will remain in my memory from my years as a teacher and coach at CHS. My sincerest condolences to his family.
