Michael Darius Lane, Jr. aka "Black" was born to Jennifer Moore-Ahiem and Michael Lane, Sr. on July 31, 1979 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, NJ. Michael departed this earth on August 20, 2024.
Michael was educated in the Red Bank School Systems where he became an avid reader, highly intelligent as some would say "before his time". To know Michael, he always came with a wealth of knowledge on every subject. He enjoyed cooking, playing his favorite video games which apparently, he was very good at. He was a die-hard San Francisco 49ers fan. In addition, he was a proud passionate father and prided himself on being a devoted "Dad" to his children. He spent most of his adult life caring and protecting his kids even to the point he believed no one could do it better than him. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to his favorite "Rap/Hip-Hop" music as he felt that was his escape.
Michael was always known for his infectious laugh and smile. Whenever you were in his presence you knew he had a heart of gold, a gentle spirit and always a kind word to say. He was that "dude". As he was known to many as "Black Sun" he will always be known to his family as "Little Michael". As a child, and at the time, the only "little kid" in the family, Michael was "spoiled" by both his Grandmother (s) Nana (Belva) who would make sure he always had his favorite "Big Mac" from McDonalds while the other kids could only get a Kids Meal. Grandma Bea (Mrs. Lane) whom we all know is famous for those "Sweet Potatoe Pies" would send him home with his own pies so he didn't have to share with anyone else. Of course, Michael found joy in bragging to us we couldn't get a "Big Mac nor were we getting any of his pie".
Michael was predeceased by his loving Paternal Grandfather, Wilmer Lane of Red Bank, NJ, whom loved Michael unconditionally and his uncle Hilary "Pig" Kenny Lane.
Michael is survived by his mother, Jennifer Moore-Ahiem, (Akey), his father Michael Darius Lane, Sr., Maternal Grandmother, Belva Pendermon, Paternal Grandmother, Beatrice Lane, sister, Tenesiah Bronner, his children, Rahmiq Lane (age 25), Rahmir Lane, (age 15), Michaela Lane (age 11), Donaj Lane (age 11), Justice Lane (age 7) and Qharim Lane (age 6). Also cherishing his memories is the mother to 5 of his children, life partner, Dona Jones.
His memory lives on with his "favorite aunt(s)" Donna Moore and Pamela Brown whom he shared a special bond with. His uncle(s): Wilmer "Check" Lane, Travis Lane, Reginald Moore and Eric Moore. Also, a "nephew", His "favorite cousin/little brother Shamel Lewis" along with a host of other cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends. Although he was loved by all he had a special bond with his childhood friend (s) Wakeem Stevens and Malik Abdullah.
