Michael Lauritsen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel on Jul. 30, 2023.
Mike "Miter" Lauritsen, age 54, of Watertown, SD, died Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.
Visitation will be held at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00. Pastor Laura Overbo will officiate.
Miter was born on August 6, 1968, to Noel and Lorraine (Dobson) Lauritsen in Watertown, SD. He was the youngest of six children and treated as such. In his high school days, he enjoyed playing football and attending art class. After graduating from Wilmot High School in 1986, he went on to join the work force. The highlight of his career was driving truck.
In 1991, Miter married Mary (Cardwell) Lauritsen in Wilmot, SD. Miter and Mary went on to have 6 children. Together they lived in Memphis, TN, Marshall, MN and spent most of their time growing as a family in Summit, SD.
In 2018, Miter married Lori (Price) Lauritsen in Watertown, SD. In their free time together you could mostly expect long back road drives, basking in the sun on a back porch somewhere or spending time with their grand-children Easton, Makenna, Riggs, Ronan and Jade.
Miter was a skilled craftsman with woodworking, enjoyed gardening which led to canning, countless miles of Sunday drives, and endless conversations with friends. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. Miter could befriend any person at any given moment but wouldn't hesitate to let you know how he really felt about you.
Miter is survived by his wife, Lori; three daughters, Chelsea (Orion) Bailey, Taylor (Brady) Hyatt and Erin (Marcus Kostboth) Lauritsen; one son, Noah; two bonus sons Brady (Hailey) Price and Jack (Allea Klauenberg) Hoffman; three grandsons Easton, Riggs and Ronan; two granddaughters Makenna and Jade; three sisters, Linda (Chuck) Munson, Tammy (Dale) Argo, Michelle (Joe) Ceretti; dog Gracie; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Miter is preceded in death by his parents; one brother Terry Lauritsen; one sister Cindy Amdahl; baby Lauritsen; one son Joseph Lauritsen.
