Michael Allen Lenz, age 71, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1992, formerly of Chicago and Mt. Prospect, IL, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Endeavor Health Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born November 8, 1953, in Chicago, IL.
Beloved husband of Elaine Lenz (nee Kurpiel), whom he married October 27, 1984, loving father of Krista (Dominick) Fontana of Lindenhurst, Lauren (Jonathan) Calero of Naperville, Mitchell (Kaitlyn Giovannoni) Lenz of Naperville and the late Michael Abraham Lenz, adored grandfather of Michael and Tyler Lenz; Lillian and Jonny Calero; Abraham Lenz, son-in-law of the late Leo and Lillian Kurpiel, dear brother of Tom (the late Meghan) Lenz, brother-in-law of the late Kathleen Kurpiel, Mary (John "Jay") Hough, James Kurpiel, John (Susan) Kurpiel, Jerry (Denise) Kurpiel and the late Joseph (Kathy) Kurpiel, fond uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.
Mike established himself early as a Meatcutter for Dominick's Food Stores in Chicago. He had natural leadership qualities and quickly rose to a Market Manager serving 22 years.
Mike then transitioned full time to Real Estate. Based on his love of people and service, he excelled, gaining numerous recognition and awards for an outstanding 35+ year career. Mike genuinely loved his work, especially meeting new clients who often became lifelong friends. He will be notably remembered for being in a "House Hunters" tv episode. He established "Team Lenz" at Re/Max of Naperville and was very proud to have his family join the business.
Mike was devoted to his wife and family. He loved being "Pa." When he was not with his family, you would find him out on the "greens" enjoying his favorite sport, golf. He loved the camaraderie and many friendships it brought.
His spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, 1:00-5:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL.
