Michael W. Liggon, a beloved member of the Riverhead community, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, in Westhampton Beach, New York. Born on August 29, 1960, in Riverhead, he was, professionally, a dedicated landscaper; in his personal life, he was a devoted family man and cherished member of the First Baptist Church of Riverhead community, known for his unwavering commitment to his craft and the beauty and love he brought to the world around him.
Michael was deeply loved by many and is survived by his adoring spouse, Rev. Cynthia Liggon, and their two children, Brenden and Lauren. His legacy also extends to his cherished grandson, Dylan, who brought joy to his heart. He is predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Isabel Liggon, who instilled in him values that he carried throughout his life.
Michael was a man of faith, exemplifying a love for the Lord, a deep love for family and care for his friends. He approached life with a spirit full of joy and humor. He was a bright light in the lives of those who knew him, always ready to lend a hand and offer support to friends and family. Michael's warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he met, and he will be remembered lovingly by those whose lives he touched.
Visitation services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Riverhead, located at 1018 Northville Turnpike, Riverhead, NY 11901, on October 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and again on October 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow on the same day, starting at 11:00 AM and concluding at 12:00 PM.
Michael's legacy of love and laughter will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and the community he so dearly loved.
