Michael M. Linkes, age 77, of Toledo, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.
Michael was born September 2, 1947 in Monroe, he was the son of Talmadge and Helen (Whaley) Linkes. He married Marie A. Colucci January 2, 1971 at St. Joseph Church, Monroe.
Mike was a 1965 graduate of Erie Mason High School.
He proudly served his country in the US Navy from Oct. 7, 1966 until his honorable discharge March 24, 1970. He was a proud Vietnam veteran.
He was a brick layer with BAC Local 2 for more than 50 years, he retired in in 2010.
Mike was a faithful member of Athens Missionary Baptist Church in Walbridge, OH. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, working in his yard and fishing. He always put his family first and cherished the time he spent with them, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie; two sons, Dane (Stephanie) Linkes of Temperance and Jason (Octavia Amaya) Linkes of Toledo; four siblings, Montie Hurst of Temperance, Patrick Linkes of Temperance, Cherokee (Ralph) Steinman of Erie and Talmadge Linkes of Toledo; five grandchildren, Alicia Linkes, Skylar Linkes, Darryl Amaya, Ashley Amaya, Katrina Lindhorst; nine greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Rev. David McGregor, pastor of Athens Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe with military honors performed by VFW Post 1138, Monroe.
Memorial contributions in Mike's honor are suggested to Athens Missionary Baptist Church.
