Michael Lites Obituary
Michael Edward Lites, 57 of Hamilton, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 23, 2023. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he eventually settled down and resided with his family in Hamilton, New Jersey.
Michael attended St. Agnes Elementary School and then went on to Power Memorial Academy, where he was part of the last graduating class, graduating with honors. He attended Pace University where he pursued a degree in computer science.
Michael started working in the hotel hospitality industry where he began his career at Princess Hotels. He worked in Reservation where he quickly moved up the ranks as a Reservation Supervisor. This is where he met the love of his life, Sonia. To further his ambitions within his career, he decided to pursue a job with Marriott Hotels International. He held various positions within various locations that spanned over 31 years. He retired as an Area Systems Manager.
Michael was a man who appreciated life's simple pleasures. He found joy in modern design, cars, and the adrenaline of Formula 1, NASCAR, motorcycles, cigars, politics and cherished the art of cooking a good meal. He made the small moments of connection matter and that made all the difference.
Michael was an active member of the Reign Riders, Christian Motorcycle group and a member of Cigar Social in Freehold, New Jersey where he often spent time with good friends.
Michael will be deeply missed by the family he left behind. His father preceded him in death Ronald Edward Taylor Lites. He is survived by his mother Cecilia Marie Delgado Lites; his wife Sonia Irlanda-Lites; his daughter Stephanie Rolon; his son Robert Taylor Lites; his brother Mark Todd Lites (Jenny); his nephew Julian Todd Lites (Irina) and his niece Jasmine Alicia Lites.
He will be deeply missed.
Family and friends may pay their respects to Michael on Saturday, December 30, 2023 with calling hours from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619. Catholic prayer services with clergy from Our Lady of Sorrows Church will officiate at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be held privately, and burial will be held at a later date in the Diocese of Metuchen Cemetery.
