Michael Wayne Lockridge, 69, was born on May 8, 1955, to the late John and Gladys Phillips Lockridge in Evansville, IN. He transitioned from Earth to Eternity on August 29, 2024.
Michael was educated in the Evansville Vanderburgh County School Corporation beginning his education at Lincoln Elementary School. While at Central High School, he excelled in football and track, setting records, some of which have not been broken. After graduation from Central in 1973, Michael attended Indiana State University Evansville.
Michael was a member of Liberty Baptist Church at an early age. He attended church faithfully for many years with his parents and siblings. More recently, he attended McFarland Baptist Church, Memorial Baptist Church, and others.
Michael became a Certified Nursing Assistant working in several nursing homes in the community, but he developed an interest in the funeral industry. He was very passionate about the profession and was fortunate to learn the craft under the direction of Lawrence George at W.A. Gaines Funeral Home. He also worked for the Earl Jones Mortuary. Later, when the Mason brothers opened a funeral home in Evansville, Michael began working under the direction of William and Roth Mason. He has also worked for Osborne Funeral Home and other funeral homes in the tri-state area, St. Louis area, Indianapolis, and Western Kentucky. Many funeral directors and embalmers have benefitted from working with Michael Lockridge. His contribution to the industry is greatly appreciated.
In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by a sister, Shirley White, brothers, Curtis Lockridge, and Richard Lockridge.
Michael leaves cherished memories for his children, Denique Rogers (Michael), Mikesha Hairlson, and Michael McNary; loving sister, Margaret Lockridge, nine grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special childhood friends.
