Michael Ray Long, age 56, passed away on November 25, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on February 7, 1969, in Dallas, Texas, to parents Larry and Janice (Gressett) Long.
Michael was not just an amazing man; he was an even better father, brother, and grandpa. He took great pride in his family, always keeping them as his foremost priority. His love for his grandbabies shone through in everything he did. Michael cherished watching his children and grandchildren grow up, celebrating their milestones with joy and pride.
A true family man at heart, he relished spending time with his loved ones, often enjoying a cold Budweiser while keenly watching the Cowboys play. Those moments were filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the simple pleasures of being together. Whether it was sharing stories with the boys or enjoying the long drives home through traffic with his kids singing their hearts out, he embraced every opportunity to bond and create lasting memories.
Michael had an exceptional talent for painting and took great delight in sharing this craft with others. His proudest accomplishments included becoming one with Jesus and embracing the faith that guided him. As well, witnessing his children and grandchildren grow played a significant role in his life, and he found immense joy in every moment they shared together.
Michael is survived by his parents, Larry, Sr. and Janice Long of Gun Barrel City, Texas; daughters, Megan and Mikayla Long of Gun Barrel City, Texas; son, Daltin Long of Gun Barrel City, Texas; step-daughter, Tiffany Grieb of Corsicana, Texas; Seven grandchildren; brother, Larry Long Jr., and wife Nancy Clay of Red Oak, Texas; sister, Misty McLemore and husband Michael of Midlothian, Texas; three nephews, Zak Long, of Waxahachie, Texas; Brock McLemore of Minot, North Dakota; and Brant McLemore of Midlothian, Texas; as well as numerous family, friends, and loved ones.
