Michael Loose Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beeler-Gores Funeral Home on Feb. 3, 2026.
Mike Loose was born April 10, 1970, and grew up in Middleville, Michigan, attending Thornapple Kellogg schools. A hard worker, Mike worked at probably every single restaurant in the area over the years, and especially at Sam's Joint in Caledonia, where he worked for almost two decades, whipping up creative dinners. He was an inspired cook, but his true love was always music. He excelled in every instrument he touched, but especially the guitar. Besides creating beautiful things to hear and taste, Mike was also a proficient artist with colored pencils and virtually any surface or medium; his imagination knew no limits! Everywhere he went he left behind a slew of origami animals and colorful designs.

Mike lived his last year in hospice, fighting cancer with pure, stubborn will, until it was finally time for him to rest on January 31, 2026. He made friends there that are likely to remember him forever.

He's survived by his mom, Mary (and Jim) French, his dad, Mike (and Marsha) Loose, his sister, Mollie (and Karl) Wilkins and Meagan, along with step siblings, Teresa (and Steve) Lewis, and Dave French, and friends, old and new.

We'll be celebrating Mike's life at Beeler-Gores Funeral Home in Middleville on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 12:00-2:00 PM. Please join us and dress like Mike, as comfortable as you'd like. Visit www.beelergoresfuneral.com to share a memory or leave a condolence message for Mike's family.
