William Evan Loose, a cherished member of the Shalimar, FL community and a dedicated veteran, passed away on February 7, 2026. His departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his legacy of kindness, service, and love endures.

Born into the loving family of William and Elenor Loose, William grew up understanding the value of commitment and the importance of family. His life was a testament to these values, as he dedicated over 25 years to serving his country in the Air Force. His final years in the military were spent at Eglin Air Force Base, where he continued to exemplify the virtues of honor and duty until his retirement.

William's life was graced by the love of his wife, Nancy Loose, who preceded him in death. Together, they built a life filled with joy and laughter, creating a warm home for their children and grandchildren. William also leaves behind his dear sister, Mary Elenor Hines, and her husband, Walter Hines, who will remember him for his unwavering support and brotherly love.

His legacy continues through his son, Jeffery Loose, and his daughter, Kristi Lewis, as well as his daughter-in-law, Emily Loose. William was a proud grandfather to Wyatt and his fiancée Rhianna, Hunter, Dakota, Jessica, and Moira. Each of them will carry forward his spirit of generosity and strength. His great-granddaughter, Heather, will grow up hearing stories of her great-grandfather's kindness and will learn from the example he set.

William's life was one of selfless service and boundless love. He was a pillar of strength for his family, a loyal friend to many, and a respected member of his community. His guidance and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial service to honor the life of William Evan Loose will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Emerald Coast Funeral Home. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather for a viewing at 11:00 am, with the service to follow at 12:00 pm. It will be a time to share memories, celebrate William's life, and find comfort in the community he so dearly loved.

As we bid farewell to William, we reflect on a life well-lived, a journey marked by devotion to family, country, and the values he held dear. His was a life that inspired others to live with integrity, to cherish each moment, and to love without reservation. William Evan Loose will be remembered not just for the life he lived, but for the countless lives he touched. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
