` Michael Anthony Lopez died Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born September 22, 1969 in Garden City, Kansas the son of Ygnacio Lopez Sr. and Dolores (Mesa) Lopez.

Michael's greatest accomplishment in life was being a father to his children. He was a steady influence in their lives and always put them first. He offered wise advice, a comforting presence, and a shoulder to lean on whenever they needed him. He cherished family holidays when everyone was together, loved spending time with his family, and especially enjoyed barbecuing, creating lasting memories around the grill. Michael had music in his soul and his family in his heart. He worked for 20 years as a radio DJ and production director. Over the years he met many people within our community and famous musicians. His iconic voice was one of a kind and reached the airwaves all over southwest Kansas. Michael was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan who never missed a game-win or lose, he was always their number one supporter. He also loved music, especially Van Halen. He is survived by his adored wife, Rashawna Lopez, with whom he shared nine years of unwavering love and companionship. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, faith, and mutual respect. His legacy lives on through his beloved children, Jaren Lopez, Bruce Colbary, Jacob Lopez, Abigail Colbary, and Aria Lopez, who will forever cherish his memory as a guiding light in their lives. Michael's mother, Dolores Mesa, and his siblings, Ygnacio Lopez Jr. (Debbie), Mario Lopez (Virginia), Yvonne Lopez-Tabares (José), Linda Lopez, Patrick Lopez, and Denise Gomez (Kenny), and Rashawna's sister, Brittany Ramirez and family, along with his cherished fur babies, Molly, Leo, Gus, and Sylvie, will hold his memory dear in their hearts. His father, Ygnacio Lopez Sr., preceded him in death, and we take comfort in knowing that father and son are now reunited in God's heavenly kingdom. Michael's relationship with God was evident in his kindness, his integrity, and his dedication to his family and community. He lived his life as a reflection of Christ's love, and his spirit will continue to shine as a beacon of hope and grace. As we bid farewell to Michael Anthony Lopez, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with him. His memory will be honored in every note of music that plays, every sizzle from the grill, and every moment we gather in unity and love. Michael's spirit has been lifted to the Lord, and we find comfort in knowing that his light will forever shine upon us from above.
