Michael G. Lorntz

Michael G. Lorntz, age 70, of Bryan, Ohio passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023 at his home. He was born July 13, 1952, in Beaufort, South Carolina, the son of Glenn F. and Donna Jean "Jeanne" (Bistline) Lorntz. Michael graduated from Bryan High School and Ohio Northern University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. After college, he served four years with the Peace Corps in Thailand. When Michael moved back to Bryan, he joined his father working at Lorntz Construction. Most recently, he worked as a custodian at Faith United Methodist Church, where he was a member.
Michael was a past member of the Bryan Jaycees and he volunteered at the milkshake stand during the fair for the Williams County dairy Association. He also enjoyed reading, wine-making and gardening.
Michael has donated his body to Wayne State University School of Medicine for research and education.
Surviving are his siblings, Linda (Robert) Bell of Fremont, Ohio, Laura (Craig) Wolin of Toledo, Ohio, and Mark Lorntz of Bryan, Ohio; six nieces and one nephew, Valerie Arnold, Veronica (Matt) Cain, Alexandra (Victor) Bell-Lesisz, Emily (Pastor Luke) Nagy, Natalie (John) Harvey, Rachel (Adam) Zimmermann, and Reid Wolin; 13 great-nieces and nephews, Kiarra, Wyatt, Lucy, Henry, Phinehas, Aliza, Josiah, Hezekiah, Micaiah, Drew, Rory, Rylie, and Noah. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life for Mike will be held Monday, May 22, 2023 at Faith United Methodist Church, 225 East Butler Street, Bryan, Ohio with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am with the service at 11:00 am. Arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith United Methodist Church, Bryan.
