Turin- Michael James Lucas, 39, of State Rt. 26 and husband of Jennifer M., passed away in Rome, NY, on Friday, October 3, 2025.

Michael was born in Lowville, on October 3, 1986, a son of Timmy Lucas and Ramona Chessor. As a child he moved to Kentucky, growing up in Ekron and receiving his education in Bradenburg, KY, graduating from Meade County High School, with the Class of 2005. While attending high school, he also attended a vocational school, majoring in Automotive Technology. Later Michael attended and graduated from Wyotech Technical School, Daytona Beach, FL, where he majored in Motorcycle Mechanics.

For thirteen years Michael was employed as an Auto mechanic in Kentucky. Later he received a CDL License and changed his career to truck driving. In 2020, he and his family relocated to Turin and since Michael had been employed as a truck driver for Virkler Concrete, Lowville and currently was employed as a truck driver in heavy material transport for Real Deal Landscaping Company, of Cold Brook, NY.

On May 10, 2014, Michael was united in marriage with the love of his life, Jennifer M. Casteel, in Brandenburg, KY.

Michael possessed a passionate satisfaction from being a volunteer firefighter and an active member since August, 2020, of the 3-G Fire Company, of Glenfield, where he served as a certified interior firefighter.

Michael greatly enjoyed being out doors and hunting, fishing, four wheeling and snowmobiling.

In addition to his wife, Jennifer, Michael is survived by his two beloved children, Hailey and Paxton; his mother, Ramona Chessor and step father, Gary Chessor, TN; father Timmy Lucas and step mother, Debbie Lucas, KY; brothers, Walker and Cody (Shannon) Chessor, TN; sisters, Ashley Chessor, TN and Tiffany (Lucas) Madison and husband, Ethan, KY, his grandmother, Judith Greene and Vernon Bruner, with whom he lived with for two years, while attending high school; an aunt, Holley Delapo; uncles, Paul Yelton, Jr., Robert Greene, III; mother in law, Paula Casteel, brother in law, Jordan Casteel and other close family members and his family of firefighter and first responders. Michael was predeceased by his grandfather, Robert Greene, Jr., and grandfather, Paul F. Yelton, Sr, an aunt, Belinda Greene and his father in law, Donnie Casteel.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 12 Noon at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where his aunt, Pastor Holley Delapo will officiate. Calling hours are Friday, 5-8 P.M., and Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral at the funeral home. Interment will be in Rural Cemetery, Constableville. Following the interment services all are invited to a luncheon at the Constableville Fire Company, where contributions of food may be taken on Satruday, from 8:00 A.M. on. Memorial contributions may be made to a fund for the future education of his children, Hailey and Paxton, payable to their mother, Jennifer Lucas and mailed to Community Bank, P.O. Box 337, Lyons Falls, NY 13368, or dropped off in person at 4116 Center Street, Lyons Falls, NY.
