Michael Dennis Lundblade, 78, of Mt. Morris, IL passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023. He was the son of Arthur Lundblade and Roberta Stringer. Michael was born in Rockford, IL on April 5, 1945.
Michael graduated from Harlem High School class of 1963. After high school, he went on to attend Allied Technical Institute of Chicago from 1964-1965. Following trade school, Michael was drafted into the United States Army and served from November 27, 1965 through November 28, 1967.
Michael worked many different jobs throughout his life, United States Parcel Service from 1968-1976, The Rockford Auto Auction from 1976-1979, All Rental Garment from 1982-1992, Federal Express from 1993-2002, JV-Pro from 2002-2010, and Winnebago County Highway Dept. from 2016-2020.
Michael had many different interests and hobbies; classic cars (particularly, Oldsmobiles), Nascar, reading (especially, American history), puzzles, crosswords, the daily crypto quote, and cooking. He also had a deep-rooted respect and passion for all animals and nature. He especially loved his Doxie, Manny. Michael would plant seeds and grow his own plants, vegetables, and fruits. Michael was very interested in the American Indian history and culture and had so much respect for them. Most of all, he cherished and loved his whole family.
Survived by his children, Melissa Nordheim and Heather (Ronald Jr.) Wight; grandchildren, Danielle Williams, Briana Nordheim, Sean Wight, Aleah Wight, and Ava Wight; great-grandchildren, Mya Williams, Melia Williams, Luna Wight, and Sean Wight Jr.; brother, Thom Lundblade; other survivors, Ronald (Heather) Wight Jr., Jerrad (Danielle) Williams, Victoria (Sean) Wight, Levi (Briana) O'Connor, and many cherished nieces and nephews. He also cherished his lifelong friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur R. and Roberta L. Lundblade; brother, Terry A. Lundblade.
