Michael Branson Lyons, 71, of Biloxi, MS, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, in Ocean Springs.
Michael was born on May 14, 1954 in Iola, KS to William R. and Joy Branson Lyons. He graduated from Biloxi High School in 1972. Michael was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and was active in the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
Michael’s exceptional mechanical skills led to a career that took him all over the world. He retired from the Houston Port Authority on December 31, 2021 and returned to his beloved childhood hometown of Biloxi.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, William R. Lyons; his mother, Joy Branson Lyons; and his nephew, Rudy Strahan. He is survived by his sister, Carol Ann (Steve) Halliburton of Jackson, MS and his sister Susie (Greg) Strahan of Owensboro, KY; his nieces Kristy (Mike) Compton and Elizabeth Strahan, both of Charlotte, NC; his nephew, Will (Jordan) Strahan of Owensboro, KY; along with numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park. In place of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society – Our Lady of Fatima, P.O. Box 4098, Biloxi, MS 39535.
