Your friendship meant the world to Michael.
Michael attended Waukesha North High School, Class of 1983 and was on the track and cross-country teams. He loved to run and often times finished in the top spots of competition. While in track, Mike along with four teammates, went to Cheyenne together to compete in the Junior Olympics National championships. Michael always attributed his success on the field to the smoking he did before a meet. Sad, that decades later in his mid-fifties that he be diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
Michael studied at MTA Truck Driving School and was a truck driver for thirty-five years, logging over 2 million miles as he drove through all 48 lower states. Mike loved being a truck driver, seeing the beauty the country had to offer, running without electric log books and making as much money as he could back in the day. He hauled furniture, scrap metal, food for restaurants and schools and once hauled a load of grenades for the government. His stories were many and often times unbelievable.
Mike loved hunting, the outdoors, attempted fishing with friends (but was horrible at it), and he loved riding motorcycles. If you know Mike, he bled orange & black, he loved Harley Davidson, owning three Harley's since 2004.
Michael's request is such for his funeral: "no suits, ties or stuffy clothes. If you aren't comfortable in it, don't wear it". Also, please wear Harley shirts or your MS shirts. Lastly per Michael: "if the weather is decent and you're still riding, you better damn well show up on your bike!"
