Michael Mark Malloy

Michael Mark Malloy passed away unexpectedly at his home in Fairfax, Vermont, on January 31, 2026.

Michael lived in Fairfax for the past 28 years, sharing his home with his extended family of 33 years, Pam and Dale Cook, their children Rebecca and Ashley, and his best friend and housemate, Jeron. He was a cherished part of their lives, and his presence will be deeply missed.

Mike was a man of few words but was loud and clear about what made him happy. He enjoyed feeling the wind in his hair while swinging, traveling, swimming, horseback riding, and receiving his weekly massages. He was a fan of NASCAR and football, enjoyed funny movies, and especially loved watching the commercials. His favorite show was Heart land. Mike also had a special love for chocolate and the simple joys it brought him.

He will also be remembered fondly by the family pets, Harmon the husky and Kash the pug, who were part of his daily life.

Michael is survived by his sisters, Mary McPherson of Florida and Martha Sargent of Georgia, and his brothers, Mark Malloy and wife Ann of Vermont and Matt Malloy and wife Lori of Vermont. He is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Kathryn Malloy.

A gathering will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans, Vermont. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Cornwell officiating.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph, Vermont.

The family extends special thanks to the many people who supported and cared for Mike throughout his life. The list is too long to name everyone, but heartfelt thanks are shared with Brook, Eva, Roxy, Amy, Shelly, the dedicated staff at Care Partners, and all of the volunteer drivers who helped make it possible for Mike to enjoy life to the fullest.

Michael's passing was sudden and deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
