The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 1:30 pm at Grifton FWB Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Estates. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Michael, son of the late Bob and Jane Manning, was a lifelong resident of Grifton. He worked at Hatteras Yachts for 35 years and then started Manning Woodworks. He was an active member of Grifton FWB Church, where he poured his heart and soul into the youth. Michael loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cindy Manning; children, Michael Manning, Jr. of Grifton; Jonathan Manning (Kelly) of Goldsboro and their son, Kamden Manning; Sarah Smith (Richard) of Ayden and their children, Liam and Grady Smith; Rebekah Bradley (James) of Morehead City and their children, Elijah, Addison, and Zoey Bradley; Joshua Manning (Kristen) of Louisburg and their son, Jack Manning; and Abigail Bailey (Aaron) of Jacksonville and their children, Graham and Emma Bailey; and brothers, Jerry Manning (Shirley) of New Bern and Richard Manning of Grifton.
Because of his love for children, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, please donate in his honor to Grifton FWB Church, Youth Dept, 674 Wall Street, Grifton, NC 28530.
