Michael Marlow Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 1, 2024.
Michael "Mike" Marlow, 75, of Howard, WI passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024 after a courageous 3-year battle with multiple myeloma.
Mike was a devoted Air Force veteran that had endless wisdom and a heart always willing to lend a helping hand. Mike leaves behind a legacy of love, knowledge, and a multitude of cherished memories.
Mike had the privilege to experience an Old Glory Honor Flight, a testament to his dedication and patriotism. His career as a manufacturing engineer and technical writer showcased his intellect and attention to detail. He shared his expertise as an instructor at NWTC and Fox Valley Technical College, shaping the minds of countless students.
A published author of a beloved children's book, The Littlest Tree, Mike's creativity knew no bounds. He was a train enthusiast, enjoyed photography and was a skilled woodworker; if you could imagine it, he could build it. His curiosity and thirst for knowledge made him a general purveyor of trivia, always ready to share fascinating facts and stories.
Beyond his professional and creative endeavors, Mike was a martial arts instructor, an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed all things aerospace. His love for adventure and the outdoors was matched only by his devotion to his family.
He loved spending time 'up north' at his cottage in upper Michigan, where he would relax, entertain family and friends, and look forward to sunset cruises down the river on his pontoon boat. After retirement, he decided to trade in Midwest snow for Florida sunshine and became a true snowbird. He enjoyed traveling abroad and around the USA with his wife for many years.
As a devoted husband, Mike cherished his wife and loving family, always putting them first. He found joy in dancing, often sweeping his wife off her feet, both literally and figuratively. His life was a dance of grace, love, and resilience, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Mike will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his contributions will continue to inspire future generations.
Mike is survived by his wife Karen and their combined children, John Marlow, Sharon Marlow, Tammy (Paul) Timmins; his grandchildren David DeBaere, Michaela (Elliott) Olp, Chrissy (fiancée Zach Smet) Timmins; great-grandchildren Oliver and Ellery Olp; his brother Paul (Marion) Marlow and their children; Randy (Margaret) Lancour and their children; many cousins, and great neighbors and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents David and Lorraine Marlow, his in-laws Clinton and Mary Lancour, and many aunts and uncles.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Gautam and his oncology team and Dr. Minor and the entire ICU team at Aurora Baycare. They provided outstanding heartfelt care to Mike and his entire family during his courageous battle with multiple myeloma.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 3 from 10:00 to 12:00 PM at St. Johns the Baptist in Howard, WI. A mass will follow at 12:00 PM. Entombment will be at Nicolet Memorial Gardens in Green Bay.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to https://www.myeloma.org/veterans-against-myeloma in his memory.

Mike and I met about a year ago through a veteran project we worked on. We talked on the phone a few times and traded a lot of emails. I leaned on him for feedback and suggestions and he always had great ideas and good news (he always had the ear of his senators in Congress and was well respected by them. I am honored for having the opportunity to get to know Mike a bit, though for such a short period of time. It seems we've been friends for many years.
We miss you Mike.
