Michael Maslar Obituary
Michael John Maslar, 63, passed away on Wednesday, March 27th, in his home in Port Crane, NY. Originally from Johnson City, Michael was predeceased by his parents, John and Otilia Maslar, his younger sister Lynn Ford, and his cousin Matthew Maslar. He is survived by his two younger brothers, Scott and Michaela Maslar of Johnson City, Dan and Patricia Maslar of Vestal, brother-in-law John Ford and Joanie Maslar Hopkins of Binghamton, his nieces and nephews, Michele, Marcus, Zachary, Santa Barbara, Justin, Troy, and his great niece and nephew Evelyn and Owen. Michael also has many close cousins, Stasia, Carrie & Al, Cindi & Jim, and more, plus life-long friends, and his dog and buddy, Zoey.
Michael graduated from Johnson City High School, and spent his career as a Journeyman Electrician with IBEW Local 325 until his worsening back forced his retirement. Mike was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, fishing, hiking, and before health issues he enjoyed boating, camping, traveling, and even scuba diving. Mike would always find the time and energy to attend family events and holidays, or to help out his friends and family with projects and home improvements, and during all his ups and downs, he always had his German Shepherd dogs that he would give much attention and care to.
Services for Michael will be on Thursday, April 4th, at 11:00 am at Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St, Binghamton. Burial will follow in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00 - 10:50 am. Please think of donating in Michael's name to the Humane Society, or your favorite animal shelter.
