Michael Matua Obituary
Mika was born on October 10, 1981 in Wellington, New Zealand to Sarina Paulsen and Faavae Matua. He grew up in Puyallup and Tacoma, Washington and later moved to Maple Valley with his devoted partner, Judy Kim, whom he fell in love with in 2002.
Mika was a commercial electrician for over 15 years and was an avid golfer, movie-watcher, traveler, Korean-food lover, and diehard Cougs and Seahawks fan. His sense of humor and smile were genuine and infectious, and anyone who spent time with him, even briefly, couldn't help but feel the positive and lasting impact of his energy, spirit, and loving heart.
Mika was preceded in death by his father Faavae, Mike and Mariye Cina, Ed Paulsen and his brother, Fili Matua. He is survived by the love of his life, Judy Kim, his mother, Sarina Paulsen, brothers and sisters Finny, Megan, Bernice, Kiel, Sarah, and EJ, as well as many other dear family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Druid's Glen Golf Course in Covington from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.
