Michael John May, 72, passed away from a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 in Beacon, NY.

Son of the late William and Evelyn (Cooper) May, he was born on February 14, 1953. Michael grew up in Brooklyn, NY, but also enjoyed spending summer vacations with his cousins on Long Island when he was young.

He truly loved his mother's home country of England and thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent there. He studied "The Classics" at Royal Holloway College at the University of London Egham, Surrey, United Kingdom. He had a lifelong love of learning. He was a history buff and read voraciously. He enjoyed translating old Greek and Latin into English.

Michael retired from the Legal Department of the City of New York and eventually moved to Poughkeepsie, NY and lived at Vassar-Warner Home before moving to Beacon, NY.

He is survived by his cousins: Eileen Brady and her husband Thomas of Bowie, MD and Patricia May of Leesburg, VA.

A memorial graveside service will be announced at a later date.

Donations in his memory may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation (www.parkinson.org) or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (www.michaeljfox.org).

Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. For online tributes, visit www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
