It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Shane Mayfield, who departed this world on March 9th, 2025, at the age of 43. Born on April 15th, 1981, in Amarillo, Texas, to the late Kelly Mayfield and Angela Maddox, Michael's life was a vibrant tapestry of creativity, passion, and love.
Michael was a talented man, he spent his days working as a maintenance supervisor known for his commitment to excellence. Outside of his professional life, he found joy playing baseball with his nephews, spending time with family at the lake and beating everyone at pool. An exceptionally talented artist, Michael had a unique ability to capture the essence of life through his drawings, particularly in portraits, leaving behind a legacy of beauty and expression. Those who knew Michael cherished his larger-than-life personality. He was protective, and loved to joke as he was known for his humor and spirited nature, and a beloved Uncle. His adventurous spirit brought excitement to the lives of his family and friends, leaving them with memories they will forever treasure.
Michael is survived by his beloved daughter, Chloe Mayfield; and his brothers, Steven Mayfield, Ronnie Mayfield, and Trey Mayfield, and Jesse Perez. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is preceded in death by his father Kelly Mayfield and mother, Angela Maddox, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. Michael Mayfield's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, reminding us to embrace life with the same passion and joy that he so effortlessly embodied.
