Michael Bertrand McAdam Sr.

Michael Bertrand McAdam, Sr. died peacefully at his home on October 5, 2025, at the age of 90. He is survived by his four children, Michael B. McAdam, Jr. (Cheryl), Laura M. Rosamond (Sam), Colleen M. Nusloch (Hank), Patrick E. McAdam (Susan), his seven grandchildren, Chad M. McAdam (Liz), Victoria M. Marcev (Darrell), Brittany M. Ledet (Jared), Michelle R. Dipuma (Brett), Kristen M. Rosamond, Mary G. Nusloch, Caroline A. Nusloch, and his seven great-grandchildren, Dominic Marcev, Prescott Marcev, Mason Ledet, Camille Dipuma, Harlan Hintz, Hudson Hintz, and Hawkins Hintz. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia Kemp McAdam, his parents, Grace E. McAdam and Joseph G. McAdam, Sr., and his siblings, Joseph G. McAdam, Jr., Carol M. Weaver, and Bertrand C. McAdam.

Mike graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 1953. He earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University in 1958. During his time at LSU, he was an active member of the Newman Club. He served in the Navy Reserves and enjoyed a successful career as an electrical engineer working to help build the Louisiana Superdome, and at NASA, where he earned the prestigious Silver Snoopy Award. His great faith was a steady presence in his life, highlighted by his time spent in the Resurrection of Our Lord Men's Club, decades of attending Manresa retreats, membership of the St. Dominic Knights of Columbus Council #3729, and many years of being a committed Adorer at the St. Dominic Adoration Chapel. His hobbies included running with the 5:20 Club, painting with the Jefferson Art Guild, fishing, crabbing, and square dancing with his wife Pat in the Pelican Squares square dancing club. He was an active member of the Brother Martin Plus 50 alumni group and continued to meet his fellow teammates from the St. Aloysius football team for lunch monthly throughout his life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, 901 Beverly Garden Drive in Metairie on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
