Ronald Blaise Brouphy, age 93 died Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 12:45 a.m. at Metairie Health Care Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aldwin E. Brouphy and Amy Robinson Brouphy, as well as his lifelong friend, Harry Frederick, Sr. He is survived by a sister, Betty June Brouphy Greenfield, nephews Mark Greenfield and Morris Greenfield and a niece, Lisa Greenfield, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Mr. Brouphy, a lifelong bachelor, was a native and resident of New Orleans. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School, Class of '52 and a member of its Alumni Association. Ronald graduated from Loyola University New Orleans in 1957 with a B.A. in education. Mr. Brouphy was a lieutenant in the United States Army, receiving the Good Conduct Medal. He retired from the St. Bernard Parish School System having taught social studies at Violet Elementary School then Chalmette High School. In retirement, he was a ranger at Chalmette Battlefield where he continued to educate visitors about its history. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Ronald's dear friend and neighbor of 15 years, Rick Valadie, and the caring staff at Metairie Health Care Center. A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, located at 5190 Canal Blvd. New Orleans, La 70124 on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
