Michael Herbert McClain, also known as Mike to his loved ones, passed away on December 5, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on February 8, 1943, Mike lived a life filled with joy and adventure.
Mike's passion for exploring the world led him to enjoy travelling down to the Keys and skiing in Colorado. He had an adventurous spirit and always sought out new experiences. Whether it was soaking in the sun on sandy beaches or gliding down snow-covered slopes, Mike found solace and excitement in these pursuits.
Beyond his hobbies and interests, Mike valued his relationships with family and friends above all else. He shared a beautiful journey with Martha "Martie," his beloved wife whose love and support were unwavering. Their bond was truly remarkable and served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Mike embraced his role as a stepfather to John and stepdaughter Carrie. Missy, Mike's daughter, held a special place in his heart as did his daughter-in-law, Courtney. The joy that Lauren, Alexis, Katelyn, Tanner, Sydney and Jordan brought to Mike's life as his precious grandchildren made him swell with pride.
Mike had a deep admiration for his brother Jim and sister-in-law Laurie. Through thick and thin, their sibling bond remained unbreakable. Mary, his stepsister, shared nostalgic childhood memories that shaped their lifelong connection.
On December 10th at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home in Plantation, FL - located at 7001 NW 4th St - family and friends will gather to honor Mike and celebrate his extraordinary life. A Memorial Service will commence at 1:30 PM and conclude at 3:30 PM, providing an opportunity for all who loved Mike to pay their final respects.
Although we mourn the loss of a remarkable soul, we find solace in the beautiful memories and the profound impact Mike had on our lives. As we gather to bid farewell, let us remember his adventurous spirit, his warm heart, and the incredible love he shared with those around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Mike's memory to a charity of your choice. Your contributions will honor his legacy by supporting causes that were close to his heart.
Michael Herbert McClain may have left this earthly plane, but his spirit will forever live on in our hearts. May he find eternal peace in the embrace of his loved ones who passed before him. Rest in peace, dear Mike, knowing that your memory will forever be treasured and celebrated.
