Michael Walter McCreery Sr., a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, passed away September 8, 2025.
The son of Thomas and Beatrice McCreery. Michael grew up Port Jervis, New York.
At the age 19, Michael enlisted in the United States Air Force. He valued his service highly and attained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. During Michael's 26 years with the United States Air Force he served in the Vietnam War and the Gulf War and achieved the following: Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with one oak leaf cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with seven oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with one bronze star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two devices, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two bronze stars, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon with one oak leaf cluster, Air Force Overseas Long Term Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with five oak leaf clusters, NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon with one oak leaf cluster, Air Force Training Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Device, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Served in "Area of Responsibility" in Operation Desert Shield/Storm.
Michael is survived by his Loving wife Janice E. McCreery, Son Michael W. McCreery Jr., Daughter Stacey L. Caetano, Granddaughter Skylar A McCreery, Granddaughter Tabitha M. Caetano, Granddaughter Shelby L. Caetano, Great Granddaughter Charlotte L. Hiatt, Great Granddaughter Ophelia S. Ontiveros-Caetano, and soon to arrive Great Granddaughter Alani J. Page, Sister Sandra Wood, Sister in law Candace Howard, Sister in law Marjorie Wrage, Nephew Thomas McCreery.
A service honoring the life of Michael W. McCreery Sr. will be held at Best Funeral Services 9380 W Peoria Ave Peoria AZ 85345 on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
