David Cotten Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Best Funeral Services Peoria on Oct. 3, 2025.
David Allen Cotten passed away on September 26, 2025 after a long, hard fought battle. He was a native to Arizona being born at St Josephs Hospital on October 15, 1959. He attended and graduated from Moon Valley High School where he spent his years enjoying being on the wrestling team, working on motors, driving fast cars and off-roading. He met and married his first wife, Melinda, whom they shared three children together, David Paul, Adam and Joshua. After working several years at Karsten manufacturers, David became a truck driver for over 30 years. He was able to see places all over the United States including historical landmarks like Area 51 and Cape Canaveral. David married his second wife, Beverly, on May 5, 2019. She has two daughters, Rebecca and Cecile that he loved as his own. In total, David has 20 grandchildren that he loved dearly. He also had a huge love of dogs including the two he leaves behind, Capri and Beauty. David loved having family get togethers at his house where everyone was always welcome. He made the best barbecue around! He brought together many family and friends throughout the years and was always the life of the party! In his spare time, David loved to go hunting and to the casino where he enjoyed playing craps. His favorite drinks were Pepsi and Sweet Tea and you could often find him with a pocket full of Tootsie Rolls. David will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. We are grateful for the time we got to spend with him and know that it's only goodbye for now, until we see him again.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for those who wish to come and share happy memories of a man who meant so much. In lieu of flowers, his family is asking that you please consider making a donation to either the American Cancer Society, Boy Scouts of America or United Way in David's memory.
